Do I need to install wordpress?

  • Hi Guys,

    This is probably a stupid question but I am new to wordpress and finding it very confusing. I am using www.ads-software.com because I need to be able to add plugins and install themes but I am a little confused as to whether I need to install wordpress or I can just go to the site /wp-admin? So far I have built it all by going to /wp-admin but I’m not sure if this is correct? Please help in as simple terms as possible!! ??

    Astyn – From what I gather, you have a WordPress site that has been installed and set up on a web host and you have a domain name to go with it. Is that the site.com/wp-admin you refer to where you have built it all?

    If that is the case, and if you are inquiring if you need to install WordPress on your own computer to continue on or do something else, then the answer is no; you do not need WP on your own computer to built and work on a site that is on a web host ??

    1. You have to download wordpress setup from www.ads-software.com.
    2. The wordpress is used to build a website or a blog.
    3. You will require a web hosting account from some web-hosting company and a domain name like https://www.yourname.com
    4. You need to put all wordpress files on you web hosting account using FTP and then install wordpress.
    5. Once installed, you can go to https://www.yourname.com/wp-admin to login into admin panel and then manage your site. You will be able to add plugins and install themes in admin panel.
