I just noticed that when I click on a link in one of my AMP pages, the page that opens is not AMP but my Responsive Mobile page…

Is this typical? Has anyone else noticed this…?

  • The problem there is that if the plugin automatically appends every link within the text of a page with the amp extension it may not always be correct.

E.g An affiliate link to the sellers website may not work if the seller’s website does not have amp implemented on that particular page.

In your case it sounds like the link is to another page on your own site which in that case would be fine, but the plugin has no real way of determining that.

As a result you are getting the mobile page.

    Hi Lance,
I was hoping you’d see this and give me your input.

Have you seen this in your pages?

I mean, the plugin could tell that the link is to the same site as all the other AMP pages on my site… right?

I had wondered if it was related to the fact a page wasn’t in the AMP menu…

    Hey @considerthis1,

Thank you @lancecarr for explaining the use cases.

@considerthis1 you can change the links by editing a post.
