Hi! I would like to ask, if I had set the settings inside Activity Log to not collect IP addresses, does it means that whatever activities happened in my site, Activity Log will not collect, or store IP address? So, during the entire period when it is on, I would be complied with GDPR by not having consent from my users, since their IP addresses is collect (I do not collect any other PII from my users, as well as from other plugins)?

With this settings on, I could be ensure that at all time, this plugin will not store and collect any IP addresses from any of the failed login attempt, successful login attempts, activities in my site and etc?

    Hi @jsttan,

When you set the Activity Log plugin to not collect IP addresses, it will stop storing IP addresses from that point forward. However, any IP addresses logged before changing this setting will still be in your existing logs. To remove these, you need to reset the data and start fresh.

Please note, the Activity Log plugin also provide the tools to help you adhere to GDPR compliance standards, including Export/Erasure of data via the WordPress Privacy Tools if needed.

    Best regards,

    Hi @arielk-1

I greatly appreciated your input, and I greatly appreciated what you responded. However, I would like to ask if “Keep failed login logs” and “Keep Email Logs” keep any sort of personal data or PII, after I had set it to not collect IP address. Will it collect email addresses and etc?

    Hi @jsttan

For now, the plugin does not store any email addresses; it just stores the subject of the mail. Keep failed login logs to avoid ignoring failed logins. The IP address is still not stored.

    Hi @kingyes ,

Thanks you for your response. I strongly appreciated your response, and I am glad to hear the results. I would like to confirm, if no IP address is collected (disabled in settings), this plugin will not collect or store any other sort of personal data from my users in all circumstances, right?

The plugin stores the event and which user triggered it.

    Hi,

This is very nice to hear, and I am glad this is the case. Thanks for the assistance, and I can’t wait to use your plugin on all of my websites.
