My initial post here was out of pure frustration at the lack of answers.

I was using a tutorial from author to learn wordpress and was using a plugin called Tesseract and the tutorial that accompanied it.

I followed the tutorial to the letter and downloaded all the various plugins (which DID NOT include Beaver Builder). On the tutorial I was using it used the Site Origins page builder.

Anyway, later on I inadvertently downloaded the Beaver Builder Lite plugin. This immediately screwed everything up and The Site Origins builder I was now used to would not work properly. So I uninstalled Beaver Builder, but some stuff must have been left behind, because now every time I tried to do anything I got this message “This theme recommends the following plugin: Beaver Builder.Begin installing plugin”.

What is more the Site Origins builder still failed to work correctly, despite uninstalling and reinstalling.

Searching for a solution over a couple of weeks, I found on other forums that others had had the same problem, but NO proper solutions had been given.

I have now discovered that the theme author has updated their tutorial completely as well as their Tesseract theme (which is excellent by the way) and the new tutorial uses Beaver Builder.

I would say at this time that my 5* rating has only been given because after my nasty review, Beaver Builder have worked with me to answer the issues.

I have not had time to evaluate the plugin yet.

    Hey rallyline,

I’m sorry to hear about the poor experience. I know you don’t believe us, but the Tesseract theme does recommend Beaver Builder in wp-admin using TGM Plugin Activation. Here are some screenshots to hopefully clear that up for you.

This is a screen shot of the file required-plugins.php in Tesseract’s importer folder. In it you’ll see that they are using TGM to recommend Beaver Builder…

This is a screenshot of a search in the Tesseract theme folder showing that they include custom Beaver Builder modules…

This is a screenshot showing that they have a tutorial video on their website showing how to install Beaver Builder…

Hopefully that’s enough proof that the issue is on their end and not ours. We would never do anything malicious as that’s definitely not how we want to be portrayed in the community. If you could please have a look at the screenshots and consider adjusting your review, we would greatly appreciate it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Justin

After your explanation I would be prepared to retract my posting above, but don’t know how to.

The confusion seems to arise from the fact that I was not using the tutorial or theme which you refer to, but an earlier version.

In that version, you are not told at any time to download Beaver Builder, but another one instead.

I have tried to find answers online for well over a week and this problem has also occurred in the past, with no satisfactory solution.

I have also raised the issue with the Tesseract people, but they either don’t respond at all or very slowly.

    Thanks for setting things straight.

    Hey rallyline,

I’m glad that we were able to get it sorted out for you. We’ll be contacting the Tesseract people as well to see if there is anything they can do on their end to avoid this confusion in the future.

In the meantime, here’s a copy of the Tesseract theme with a small modification that should allow you to dismiss their TGM notice without having to install Beaver Builder…

I don’t think www.ads-software.com allows you to remove a review, but I do believe they allow you to change the rating. We’d love if you’d consider adjusting that given we’ve been very responsive with our support (always are :)) and the issue wasn’t on our end.

    Thanks!

I cannot find a way to change my rating or delete the posting.

All I can say is that since making the post, you have been more than helpful.

If you find a way for me to delete or change rating, please let me know and I will.

Hey Rallyline! Thanks so much for being willing to work with us.

Like Justin mentioned, we’re reaching out to the Tesseract folks to let them know about the issue. Hopefully, they can change the wording to make it clearer and make the notice dismissable. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I’ll follow up here when we hear back.

If you visit the main page for our plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/beaver-builder-lite-version/

Under the Ratings section on the left, there is a section labeled My Rating.

You can change the rating from there. And again, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please do let us know!

    Hey rallyline,
You probably saw my tutorial and I did recommend site origins plugin but then decided to use beaver builder instead because it is a little easier and has more features.

Robby brought this issue to my attention. This is my fault. I made the notice non-dismissible on accident. I am in the process of updating the theme so people can dismiss it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. My bad.

    Thanks Tyler,

I was trying to get support from Ryan, but he hadn’t come back to me. I decided in the end to just start again using Tesseract 2 and the new tutorial.

I agree, already it looks a lot simpler to use. Great tutorials by the way ??
