  • You can use phpMyAdmin to access database, change your admin email and do forget password in WordPress.

May I know what kind of hosting you are using? Does it have an user interface? If you have cPanel installed, you can go to php myadmin to change the password and admin email.

If you don’t have a software to manage your host (like cPanel), then do you have access to your host via ssh? You can change the email and password via ssh too.

You can follow the instructions here to get your password back using phpmyadmin:

    Yuli Yang,

What does “and do forget password in WordPress” mean?

Is it a type and you meant to add write it as “do not forget password in WordPress”?

    hcpadmin,

Do you now how to use phpMyAdmin on your hosting company’s server?

    You said

Do you mean that you can’t login because you don’t have a valid username and password?

Is the email you’re talking about the site’s email address or is it Administrator level user’s email?

Here’s the step for resetting the password (but because your email is no longer in use, you still need to be able to change the email address in your database):

    1. Go to your WordPress Login page (something like https://yoursite.com/wordpress/wp-login.php)
    2. Click on the Lost your password? link
    3. You will be taken to a page to put in some details. Enter your username or the email address on file for that account.
    4. Wait happily as your new password is emailed to you.
    5. Once you get your new password, login and change it to something you can remember on your profile page.
