It will F*** up your site major.
To the author,
Please do not include experimental stuff to your major releases and test it thoroughly.
This is a fantastic plugin, but this time, you broke it!

How do you expect getting some help if you don’t describe your issue?
You are right. But after spending 2 hours to recover my site. That was not my first priority. My apologies.
Here is some info:
WordPress 3.7.1.
Montezuma 1.1.9.
Ploylang 1.2 running with default options. 4 languagesMulti language site with custom menus by Montezuma menus.
After installing it, I got no confirmation that the DB update has taken place??? How do we know?
Site menus got stuck in English, and it won’t switch
content switches but not the theme related stuff.
Montezuma menu page freezes.
Pages take for ever to load.Rolled back.
reinstalled Plugin 1.6
Restored DB.Hope you can fix this because I really like your plugin, but surprises like that is not pleasant.
Cheers,
Sinan.
I installed version 1.2 today on my production site (hosted linux, WP 3.7.1) – there was first an error, blocking any entry to WP admin. After refreshing the last browser page but luckily everything seems to work ok.
On my local server (windows/wamp server, WP 3.7.1) installation of v1.2 resulted in continous warnings and could not re-enter admin side at all. Rolling manually back to 1.1.6 pretty much worked out-of-the-box, but actually needed to change the locale codes (which included serveral fields besides the actual locale) into e.g. en_US. After that the country flags came back both in admin and in the user side.
A fix soonest would be great ??
Additional comments after “almost” successful update to 1.2:
– Some of the translations (e.g. site title, widget titles) made earlier seemed to have wanished, had to re-translate and after that seem to work ok.
– Menus in other than the default language were no longer linked to other languages, users saw only the default language. After manually linking the menus back to different languages seem to work ok.Possibly the update to 1.2. wiped/cleaned the whole translation DB?
Hope this helps solve problems.
For some reasons the strings translations upgrade did not work in automatic upgrade but only in manual upgrade (the only one I could tested before releasing the version). Polylang 1.2.1 should fix this (even if you already upgraded to 1.2 as nothing from 1.1.6 is removed from your database).
To come back to 1.1.6, please read this: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/issues-with-polylang-12x If the procedure is not followed, the next upgrade won’t work (as Polylang will detect it has been done once and will not run it again).
For menus, I did not reproduce any issue yet. What is your theme? Is it freely available?
Site menus got stuck in English, and it won’t switch
content switches but not the theme related stuff.
Montezuma menu page freezes.
Pages take for ever to load. Some of the issues you are reporting may be linked to the strings translations upgrade. Other may be linked to a new conflict between Montezuma and Polylang. I am sorry but I just can’t test every combination of themes and plugins before releasing a new version. If you run a test site and better explain your issues, we may try to solve them.
@vesat
I reproduced the issue with the menus locations upgrade. I will try to find a fix.Theme I used is Montezuma 1.1.9 and it is publicly available at wordpress as I mentined in my original message.
I do not have a accessible test site for you but can bring one up if you are interested in debugging. Let me know.
@Choudy, thanks – it is not a big issue, as you can fairly easily fix it manually.
The most recent version 1.2.1 installed ok at my local test site, but the “Locale” settings showed only the first letter – “en_US” became “e”. After a quick manual edit to the correct values the languages and flags showed correctly. Some of the translated strings seemed to go back to untranslated text though (two widget titles), but not all.
It also seems the page text just under my menu bar (with a language switcher) is right justified, since the setting for text direction for some reason had changed from left-right to right-left. Also the link between language/menu seems to have been wiped out for other languages but the default. This upgrade was done from (downgraded) 1.1.6 to 1.2.1.At my production website upgrade from 1.2. to 1.2.1 went without problems.
I generally use my own themes, which have not brought any conflicts with any plugins so far.
@vesat
Most of your problem on your test site are because you made
1.1.6->1.2->1.1.6->1.2.1 without reverting the database to its original stage at 1.1.6 downgrade. So the database upgrade did not run a second time. See https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/issues-with-polylang-12x for a correct downgrade a database. However what you made manually is what should have been done automatically.@smadenli
I will test Montezuma and will come back here to report the results. However I have to fix the menu upgrade issue first, even if it’s not a very big issue. That is OK, I’ll wait all the issues are resolved before I take another chance on upgrading.
https://www.zehra.madenli.com is the production site.
BTW, You have other problems with Montezuma, Some widgets and Reply/Comment Headers are not converting properly. Might as well you can take a look at that issue as well.
Many thanks for your efforts.
Fredrick,
1.22 is still no go !!
1.2.2 fixed a few problems but the beef of the problem remains. In addition it is now getting an error during install:Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/polylang.1.2.2.zip…
Unpacking the update…
Installing the latest version…
Removing the old version of the plugin…
Plugin updated successfully.
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/content/48/11998948/html/wptest/wp-includes/query.php on line 27
Shows installed on the plugin page.
Site is still broken after the update.
I created a test site for you.
wptest.madenli.com
which has the same db perhaps except a few new comments and users but the same content and structure working perfectly fine with 1.1.6. After the update it is experiencing the problems listed below.wp 3.7.1
theme Montezuma 1.19.9
polylang 1.2.2 updated form 1.1.6
redhat, apache, php 5.3So far observed problems are:
– Menus do not switch with the language
– Menu locale’s can not be updated either. when you assign a menu to a language update does not hold.
– Page list on menus do not refresh as you apply language settings
– Some of the themes control elements do not convert (stays in English no matter which language is selcted)I hope you can compare this broken site with the real one and try to figure out what is going wrong with version 1.2.2.
I’ll keep the test site up until you have a fix so that you can observe.
I am waiting anxiously for you to fix it.
Cheers
Most probably one of your active plugin is breaking the upgrade process. That’s not your theme as I tested the upgrade with it and it works perfect.
I am aware that wp-ecommerce broke the upgrade to 1.2 or 1.2.1 but that should be fixed with 1.2.2. Thanks to your test I see there are other plugins which still interfere. Which ones?
Here is the list of plug-ins installed. all active.

My Menu locations shows only the English has a an association.

if I create a new menu, it then holds.
so there is something wrong with menu location changes, it is not saving or not saving the right place. The other navigation elements of the theme such as
