I have a staging site and ‘Do not send’ is enabled so that as I load users it doesn’t send out New Registration emails. However, these are still going out.

Any issues with this feature? Another setting I’m missing?

  • Hi @fortafy,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting the issue.

I’ve tested the functionality and it looks like a bug within the plugin. I’ve reported the bug for our team to look into it. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.

    Have a good one! ??

Pretty big bug (I unknowingly sent out 892 emails from my staging environment). Thanks for looking in to this.

    Hi @fortafy,

I apologize for the trouble with that. Just an update on this issue. I didn’t test the issue with the actual emails earlier and it looks like the feature ‘Do Not Send’ is working fine – I could not reproduce the issue. When you get a chance, could you please share the mailer, the user registration form you’re using, and possibly the list of your activated plugins?

    Thank you!

We are using a custom mailer via Mandril. We have the following plugins installed:

    1. MemberMouse
    2. LearnDash
    3. Toolset
    4. Gravity Forms
    5. MemberMouse
    6. WP Bakery
    7. Modern Events Calendar
    8. User Role Editor

And some other, utility plugins that are either addons to the above or for a specific purpose like:

    1. CBX Bookmark & Favorite
    2. GDPR Cookie Consent
    3. Media Library Folders for WordPress
    4. Object Sync for Salesforce
    5. One User Avatar
    6. etc…

    Hi @fortafy,

    with:

We are using a custom mailer via Mandril…

you mean you are using the “Other SMTP” mailer in our plugin settings, which is using the Mandril SMTP server to send emails?

Are only the user registration emails coming through if the “Do not send” setting is enabled in WP Mail SMTP Misc settings?

Maybe those registration emails are not being sent through our plugin, but through another plugin, you are using…

Could you please check out the “original message” for one of those registration emails that come through to your inbox and see what the value for “X-Mailer” is? This is how you can view the original message in Gmail, but other email inbox providers also support this in one way or another: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/29436

    Take care!

    Yes, that is correct.

Yes, it appears to be new registration, password resets (so all account related activities)

Could you please check out the “original message” for one of those registration emails that come through to your inbox and see what the value for “X-Mailer” is?

    Hi @fortafy,

thank you for providing these details… Are you maybe using our constants plugin setup (using constants to configure our plugin in wp-config.php)? If so, which constants are you using (just the names of the constants, don’t paste the actual values here)?

Or did you configure our plugin via our plugin’s user interface?

We would like to collect as much information as possible, so we can debug this issue properly.

    Take care!

    Hi @fortafy,

We haven’t heard from you in about a while, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this ticket resolved. If you still have questions, though, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
