This plugin not working completelly. After installation I check Nextgen optimization and cklick Bulk optimization… window stay empty… After refrech and resave settings- same :)) Then I found in FTP that for Nextgen images was made backup images, but in same sizes :))) So… Next step look in logs file CSV- for all images 1MB or 3MB “optimization not required” :))))) WDF??? Next step- before uninstall this fake plugin, I click “Delete Backup”, but in FTP every backup images stay… So I had delete manually… ?? Also no errors in WP or server logs did not find. Also all directories had 777 CHMOD. So as you see no way to believe this plugin. Completelly fake…

    Hi Elaso,?
thanks for your message, I’m sorry to see you’re so upset :-(?

First of all our plugin is not ?”fake”. As you can see if you take a moment, it is a popular plugin running on tens of thousands of websites with 100+ 5 star reviews
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/shortpixel-image-optimiser/stats/

    Now regarding your complains:
    1) I’m not sure what you mean by “window stay empty”, could you please explain?
    2) the original images are saved, even if they have the same size and weren’t optimized at all. This is required for the restore/reoptimize mechanism.
    3) I also had a look at your optimization report and I noticed that besides the images that we optimized (some with as much as 91%!) there are 2 cases where our plugin didn’t optimize the images.
    Here are 2 examples:
    https://www.d-dcarpentry.ie/wp-content/gallery/hi-gloss-kitchen-finishes-with-handless-system/Park-Kitchen-Hi-Gloss-Finishes-With-Handless-System.gif
    – this image is a 900KB GIF image and it would have been much better to have it as a JPEG image instead. A JPEG version of this image could take only about 200KB
That’s being said it is normal that the GIF version of this image couldn’t have been optimized more.

Then there are images like this one:
    https://www.d-dcarpentry.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/kitchen-accessories-730×350.jpg
which already shows visible compression artifacts.
Our plugin won’t try to optimize it further which is, in our opinion, the correct approach. We try to optimize images while keeping their visual aspect intact ??

    4) regarding “Delete Backup”: you’re the first person to complain about this as far as I know. We would need to investigate this more and see if it is indeed a problem with our plugin or not.

For this we would need your support, I would appreciate your follow up on this.

Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you,
    Alex
