• WPML will slow down your site incredibly, cause you a lot of grief, lost search engine rankings and sales. If you use WooCommerce it will slow down you site even more.

We have wasted so much time due to WPML. We have paid for a lifetime license and have gotten horrible support (read: none) and a very slow site in return. Never mind the fee we paid; the lost sales and resources (time) are thousand times worse.

  • Hello,
I am sorry that you are not satisfied with our products.
There has been a very big leap in improving performance in WPML since the latest release of WPML 3.5.x branch, and we continue to improve the speed in the next releases as well.

Please let me know if there is something that I can help you with?

Would you mind to provide me with the link to your wpml.org tickets so that I could check up on them?

You have mentioned that you have not received any support – I wish to investigate this further so that I could help you and subsequentially that we could improve our process.

Please also do note that WooCommerce Multilingual is a separate plugin from WPML, and if you wish to provide feedback for WPML – it would be best to either open a new ticket in wpml.org support forum or to use the contact form on wpml.org

George, I hear all of you play those violin tunes. You might very well experience huge performance improvements in your isolated development environments, but that’s not the case on production sites of many of your customers. Look at your support forum. It is flooded with messages from distressed customers.

See this post in your support forum: #1072756

Ok, I have seen the post – https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-3-5-1-1-and-related-wpml-plugins-adds-400-700-db-qps/
It seems that you have posted it this Friday at 18:08.
I need to mention that our forum is not 24×7 at this time. Most of our supporters are not available during the weekends. Your ticket and the problem will be handled as soon as possible.
We will need to investigate the issue properly on your site and determine from where the queries are coming from – there might be a conflicting plugin or code – but this is just a guess and we need to properly investigate this first.

George, when you develop software and release “stable” versions that are super buggy, you double down on support and make sure support is done in weekends too, until the problems are fixed. Many others have the same complaints. Plus, lots of other tickets were handled in the weekend, but not ours; it was conveniently skipped.

The current stable release of WPML has been extensively tested by our testing team as all of our releases. I will not argue about its stability as it is working stable for most of our customers. Of course, there might be other issues and bugs with third party code, but our developers are working hard to fix all of these issues as fast as they are discovered.
Because of that, we need your help – as it seems that you are in a situation that we had not yet experienced, it would be very nice if you collaborate on finding a fix for your problem.

As for the other things that you mentioned I will forward your feedback to the people responsible.
I can assure you that it is not possible to conveniently skip a ticket.
The tickets are assigned automatically to the first available supporter available on duty.

I forwarded your suggestion to our team leader and he is going to consider a new plan for our supporter allocation during the weekends so that there is a faster response in the future during the weekends.

I also noticed that you marked your wpml.org ticket as resolved. However, since you wrote in this forum – WooCommerce Multilingual and gave a bad rating to WooCommerce Multilingual, and not to WPML, I would ask you to consider, if possible – to change your ratings for our plugin.
