i know what you’re thinking… don’t. if you want to save yourself time and trouble to restore your database / site, do not use this plugin because it doesn’t work properly. if you’re one of the “why should i listen people i’m going to use it anyway”: backup

You do not need to restore database or anything.
If something go wrong just do this: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/hide-wp/faq/

or you could update your plugin and make it work properly instead of f*ing up my / other peoples database(s) or remove it from www.ads-software.com completely.

This plugin does nothing with database. This plugin modifies only .htaccess file.

So where does it store the settings? hmmmm? in a database perhaps? <?php echo ‘HELLO WORLD, DO NOT USE THIS PLUGIN!’; ?>

Yes, settings are stored in database.

And yes, if you do not know what your doing you should not use this plugin.
This plugin is for advanced users.

And there is not need to restore site from backup if something goes wrong.
In this case go to FAQ section and do two simple steps to revert changes made by this plugin.

And yes, there is warning on plugin description page: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/hide-wp/

But you said it doesn’t do anything with a database…
And after changing the .htaccess file, the settings from the database changed the .htaccess again so i had to reset the database to finally get rid of your plugin…
Of course you need to backup if a plugin is risky…
And yes you added a warning after updating your plugin…
Of course people need to be advanced users to change the .htaccess file… especially if the setting from the database change the .htaccess again so someone has to ACCESS THE DATABASE TO GET RID OF THIS PLUGIN COMPLETELY

Just read FAQ again, again and again: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/hide-wp/faq/

There are 2 steps to restore site.
    1. delete plugin directory
    2. fix .htaccess

diederxl. If it didn’t work for you does NOT mean that it will not work for everybody else.

I’m testing it on a NON-Clean WordPress installation and is working like a charm. It’s installed on a subdomain though and online scanners just can’t detect it.

Good work on this one kursorA!!

    Kind Regards,

    Dear Juan,

I’m extremely glad it works for you. I reccomend you hide wp-admin too. Have fun.
