Do the video views (gallery) count in the Youtube total views ?

    Hello,

    Thanks for this wonderful plugin. I installed this plugin and displays a gallery… I just want to know if the video views (from the gallery) count in the Youtube total views. Because it seems that they do not count.

    Thanks for the compliment.

    As to your question, the general answer is yes they count. However, YouTube has an official policy about about autoplay and play counts. That is, videos that are embedded with the autoplay parameter will not count towards plays/views. If you think about it, it prevents views/plays being given to a an autoplayed video that the visitor might not have wanted to watch in the first place. When the built-in play button is clicked, then the user (highly) likely wants to watch the video.

    Given the YouTube policy, the plugin has a couple of autoplay options so that we can allow the site owner to decide what is preferred.
