• Do we still need to use gutenberg plugin in WordPress 5.1.1 ?

Or we can safely remove it?

I am using gutenberg blocks with lazyblocks plugin via gutenberg. So just want to make sure that nothing will break.

    Thank you.

  • Hi there,
No you don’t need this plugin with WordPress 5.1.1

Now that the block editor is the default editor in Core, the developers use the plugin to work on the Gutenberg Phase 2 projects and release new version for testing before they are added to future WordPress Core releases.
Example: Gutenberg 5.3 was just released and it’s scheduled to be in available via the WordPress core in its version 5.2, to be released on April 30, 2019.

The Gutenberg developers release new versions every two weeks. WordPress Core every six to eight weeks.

It’s a bit confusing, and I need to think hard every time I try to explain it.
