    Dear all,

I would like to use Anonymous Event Submissions to give organisers the possibility to submit events but only after their email address has bee verified.

Has anyone thought about this already?

    Kind regards,
    Mirko

  • Hello,

This might be possible with a combination of other plugins. I think the plugins that you may need are:

    1. Double Opt-in plugin for WordPress
    2. Plugins that lets you restrict certain pages for logged-in only
    3. Events Manager

In theory the process would be, Use the double opt-in plugin to create a registration page. Then Create another page and restrict that page for logged-in users only or maybe certain user roles. Lastly use the events manager shortcode for event submission and put those on the page you created.

    Dear Tim,

    thanks for your quick reply!

I have a user registration process with double-opt-in already for members of our association.

But I would like to let non-registered users submit events by “Anonymous Event Submissions” so they don’t have to register.

It would be great if the anonymous submitter would have to enter his email-address when creating an event and if this email-address could be verified then by an automated email including a link for verification.

Does anyone see any possibilities to have a smart work-around to realise this?

    Kind regards,
    Mirko

    Hello,

Currently those are not possible on Events Manager alone. When submitting an Event, A submitter doesn’t have form that He/She would fill-out for his details.

This may be possible but that would require you to do some custom coding or with help of other plugins.

If your goal is to verify a users email before you accept their event, I would suggest just making them register on site first before they could create an event.

    Dear @timrv ,

many thanks for your feedback and sorry for the late reply!

Unfortunately due to security reasons (NGO) it’s not possible for me to let those submitters register to the website (members only).

Maybe it’s possible to take my idea of verifying by double-opt-in unregistered submitter’s email address as a feature request ??

    Kind regards,

    Mirko
