Docs search is searching whole website

I’m unfamiliar with that plugin. Have you asked the plugin authors how to exclude searches from being picked up by the plugin? (BuddyBoss is a very responsive group, I understand.)

From the screenshots, it looks like you could exclude a custom post type like bp_docs from search results, although that may not control when the global search kicks in.

Yes the settings allow me to exclude post types, but what I want is for the search field on the Docs page (not the top search bar in the website header) to only Search within the Docs and not the entire site. If I turn off the plugin Global Search the Docs search/filter works perfect and only searches the Docs, further more the results are shown via ajax and dont take the user to a Search Results page. It acts more as a filter.

I want the top header search bar on the website to utilize the Global Search plugin and search the entire site but I would like the “search filter” on the Docs page to work independently from the other site search and only search docs.

I will create support ticket through BuddyBoss as well.

Thanks for your response. That makes sense, and it does seem like a question for the BuddyBoss devs. It seems likely they’ve got some sort of exclude filter, but it’s not a plugin I’ve used.

Yes the filter just will exclude the Docs from being searched.. but then that tells the Docs Search NOT to search Docs. So it becomes useless. I’ve posted this question on BuddyBoss support AND the WordPress BP Global Search Support… guess I’ll wait and see. I’ll post any update i get from either thread.
