• The impression I get is that the Montezuma theme is meant to be the parent of child themes. Also very customizable, but not easy to customize. That means a lot of reading the documentation, but to do that it would help to know where the documentation is. Is it available through the theme home page?

In case you’re wondering, I like it. Especially the sheet audacity.

  • Hey there mythusmage,

    Hope you’re well! ??

I am hoping to find it for you but it seems the theme’s website is down. Can you confirm this?

Looking forward for your reply! ??

    Take care,
    Calvin

Hi, mythusmage. You do not need to make a child theme in order to use Montezuma effectively. The use of the virtual templates and CSS files make that unnecessary. As you’ve noted, it’s highly customizeable, but how easy it is to customize depends on your knowledge of HTML and CSS. It also helps if you understand the WordPress template hierarchy, because the use of the various main templates follow how the template hierarchy works.

For documentation, read the sections under CSS Settings > Editing CSS, Main Templates, and Sub Templates. You should have a good basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, because working with the virtual files is a lot like working with the physical templates in other themes.

For questions about the theme, you should post questions on the Bytes For All support forum.
