1. Twenty-fourteen has the grid/harmonica display option for featured articles. It is worth noting somewhere that you either have to:
– add translations for the featured pages
– or translate the featured tag and use it (as mentioned in another thread)
Without that, none will show up if you’re not in the default language.In my case, the second option doesn’t appear to be working — I expected to see the article tagged with all three translated tags to appear in all the grids, but it doesn’t. So even more detailed docs would be welcome.
2. If you only have translated pages, but not posts, the have_posts() checks in themes can fail and present an empty front page, if it is not static. (this could be specific to use of the hack under 3. though)

This hack is still compatible with the latest default theme, great!
