Does a child theme override Mobile responsive layout?

All,

I’m trying to figure out what happened to my site after I added a child theme.

In a web browser, the site looks as it should. In firefox responsive mode, it looks great too.

However, when viewing the site from a mobile phone browser, I get a totally different colour scheme and certain layout elements are no longer present.

I’m not sure how to add an image, but if required, I’ll throw something up on a photo sharing site and edit this post.
