Does a theme need to be multilingual ready to…

  • Hi Guys,

    I need to set up a multilingual theme for English & Welsh. I’ve installed qTranslate and can now translate the site content (post & pages) using QT’s switcher widget. Great.

    But, how do I translate all the WordPress stuff like ‘Powered by…’ etc.? I’m getting very confused about all this. Do I need a multilingual ready theme? What about those po & mo files!? Where do they go? Should qTranslate be able to do this?

    Can anyone offer a simple step by step mini guide to translating wordpress. I’ve read through lots of info re: translating WordPress etc., but I’m still a bit cloudy.
