Does anyone get this to work

@thenewbreed – From your description it is not WordPress core that is the issue but the theme you are using that is causing the problems … and as a NextGEN Pro subscriber you should be using your member’s area at https://nextgen-gallery.com/ to bring forward any of your concerns or questions with NextGEN Pro (and NextGEN Gallery as it related to using NextGEN Pro).

I did submit a support request. I guess you can see how helpful that was. Don’t be all patronising to a paying customer just because your “upgrade” has messed up the site. Furthermore, the question that I asked is still not answered, by your support nor on here. I don’t need anyone to tell me to turn on plugins and turn them off, nor try to persuade me that a product works when I know it doesn’t. I need to know which version of 2.0 has the least complaints. That is all. If that does not work then clearly no one in their right mind will spend more time on this, we would just have to do something else that is less of a headache, and request a refund for NextGen Pro which does not work right now either. Don’t tell me not to complain when I ask one simple question and cannot get one simple answer. It was better when no one was responding.

We had to downgrade and now it’s still not working properly. Our theme causes no problems elsewhere nor prior to “upgrading”.

Now we have to find a working solution. It’s been real.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all other plugins deactivated?

In answer to esmi, I like to wait a bit before rushing to every single WP upgrade. The site can be working fine, do an upgrade and then it doesn’t work with plugins, etc. My primary function is web content, so I prefer to see if there are any complaints before every update. And I’m not a programmer!

The theme is custom. It had no issues with anything else. I did all that stuff with the plugins disabled, etc.

ANYWAY. I write here to say that THANKS to the great support I got from NextGen, the site is fixed, running WP 9 + latest NextGen and also NextGen Pro. After trying a few suggestions from the exceedingly helpful Erick, their developer looked at it and fixed it.

Here is what I learned about the issue: When all else fails, use the RESET button at Gallery > Other Options > Misc. > Reset
That should solve any issues, although you will have to reset any default options that you changed. If this does not work, then email NextGen and they will run a test and possibly a different reset function.

NOTE: Clicking RESET does not affect the galleries, images or gallery displays. It restores NextGen settings to default values and should fix any outstanding errors.

The explanation: Developer re-upgraded NextGen to 2.0.65 and ran a reset tool to reset all the settings including visible settings in the options panel + non-visible database settings. Then he did a reset on my site to re-adjust global settings to what they were prior to the reset. There was a corruption in the database for unknown reasons, so he made adjustments to the reset functionality, then reset the options to match the server and domain.
