    Hi

Does anyone know what the ig-logs are under uploads directory?

I have a strange htaccess file in there looked dodgy. (content says deny from all) so looks dodgy.

I have renamed it for now.

All files in this directory (text files) They seem to be error logs from 2020.

Can I just remove whatever is in this directory?

I’m not sure what directory that ig-logs is from?

    THanks

Does anyone know what that belongs to?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kristin,

    wc_logs is indeed from WooCommerce.

The ig-logs directory and its contents are not part of the WordPress core and if unrelated to your website, it might be a good idea to investigate further before taking any action.

    You can consider to:

    1. Check Plugin or Theme Directories: Examine your installed plugins and themes to see if any of them might be responsible for creating the ig-logs directory. Some plugins or themes create their own directories for logging or other purposes.
    2. Review Server Logs: Check your server logs for any relevant information about the ig-logs directory. This can help you identify when and how it was created.
    3. Backup Before Removing: If you decide to remove the ig-logs or other directories, it’s advisable to make a backup of your installation first. This way, you can restore the files if needed.
    4. Security Scan: Run a security scan on your website to identify any potential security issues. There are various security plugins available for WordPress that can assist with this.

    Have a nice day!

Focus on “IG”. Do you have any plugins that might be abbreviated with IG?

Yes I’ve been trying to figure out if any plugins are named IG? None that I can see.

I do have a plugin called Icegram for newsletters, I’m going to email them now.

Thanks for the tip in process of elimination. Let’s see if it is their logs for their plugin.

    Thanks
