    Does Deleting Product Remove It From the Users Account page?

    I have a product which is no longer supported and would like to remove it but I have read that it will also prevent any customers from downloading it again from their account page.

    Is this correct ?

    Hi @ianbarber. Yes, deleting a product will remove it from customer accounts and they will no longer be able to download. But, we typically do not recommend deleting products.

    If you no longer want customers to download the file, I would consider removing the file from the Product/Download details. Also, set the Download’s status to draft which will prevent additional purchases. Doing this will keep a record of the Download in the Order details.

    Just to confirm, by setting the product to draft will still allow them to download the file from their account ?

    Yes, it would. So, if you no longer want customers to download the file, you’ll want to remove it from the Download’s settings (Downloads > All Downloads > Click Download in question).

    It would be nice to have a type of archive:

    Here is my use case:
    Sell product X version 1
    User buys product x and downloads it.

    Later, product X version 2 is released and is chargeable
    I have to make new product in edd for version 2

    To stop version 1 from showing live, make version 1 draft.
    Would be nice if we could archive them rather than put them in draft mode
