We get that EWW is an image optimizer, we can’t figure out if it has a watermark function or not. Anyone know? Thanks, MTN

No, it doesn’t, although I added full compatibility for the Easy Watermark plugin recently.

Frustrating, as Easy Watermark appears to be an orphaned plugin with no updates in 2 years or more, and not tested with current version of WordPress. The support forum has no recently resolved threads. I can’t bring myself to use plugins like that… have to ask, why would you add compatibility for a clearly non-active or orphaned plugin, when every security advisor out there is telling us to not use such plugins? Sorry, was going off my memory, it was actually this one: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/image-watermark/
Soon as you said that, I remembered pulling Easy Watermark off my dev site for that exact reason.

Ha! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Before contacting you, I worked hard for a few hours with the ever fun WordPress plugin evaluation process, and behold, Image Watermark is what I ended up with.

Been testing for a while now, it’s not great but seems to be ok. Really tricky getting a good looking watermark image to work with it, no support for that, and it’s got some missing functionality probably due to it not keeping up with WordPress updates. Main thing for us it that it seems fairly lightweight, as well as actually re-processing the images and placing watermark on-within image instead of as a layer.

I simply could not find another watermark plugin that seemed legit. Almost all appear orphaned.

Would sure be nice if you guys would just include watermark in EWWW, perhaps you could start with the basics behind one of those orphaned plugins?

    MTN
