    HI I’ve read through several threads but haven’t seen the answer.

    I use Contact Form 7 v. 5.1.1
    Honeypot v. 1.14.1
    Flamingo v. 1.9

    I want to know if Flamingo saves all entries even those flagged as spam by Honeypot – AND – I’d like to know if there’s a way to have Flamingo NOT save those. Maybe this is a Flamingo question?

    But outside of Flamingo… if I were to connect my email client to my site… I still want these to filter out and not be automatically added to my email client. Thank you!!

  • Hi good question because I Just installed honeypot and saw that there are some spam entries now on flamingo

    Hi @jensdes

    this Honeypot plugin uses a form tag with these parameters (if CF7 4.6+ is used):

    'do-not-store' => true,
    'not-for-mail' => true

    So if those fields are used nothing should be saved in Flamingo or Flamingo adressbook if I understand this correctly.

    All the best

    Hi all, the current (1.14.1) version of honeypot doesn’t utilize CF7 spam system (and thus doesn’t get reported as spam in Flamingo – as Flamingo uses that). This is being corrected in the new version of Honeypot that is expected out in the next couple days.

    It will have the ability to store the honeypot field in Flamingo as desired.

    EDIT: I just realized the OP is specifically asking if Honeypot items get saved as “spam” in Flamingo. This currently isn’t the case, as Honeypot simply validates and refuses to send (thus no saving in Flamingo). However, CF7 introduced a spam function a while back that handles all this differently, and Honeypot will be using that going forward, so stuff that gets caught with Honeypot will be saved as spam items in Flamingo (though Flamingo auto-deletes these after 30 days by default).

    Thanks guys for your responses. Well now we are using a new system called Klaviyo and I’m using that for two of my main forms instead of CF7. But yes, ideally the plugin would function in a way that allows you to identify which emails are spam. Thanks again.
