My Forminator forms do not send to Gmail. Is this a known problem?

I have to use the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

    Is this normal behaviour?

  • Hello @mwcs,

    I hope you’re doing well!

There should be no issue with the Forminator sending emails through WordPress. WordPress uses mail function in PHP to send emails, and it can sometimes fail due to server configuration.

SMTP plugin is ensuring email delivery if WordPress will fail to send an email. I’m afraid this is not related to the Forminator plugin. To ensure this, you may temporarily deactivate the SMTP plugin, install the Email tracker plugin to ack all outgoing emails. Test and see if a form submission will be sent.

Have a good day and take care!

    Kind regards,

Thanks for your advice but I already know for a fact that – in my case – emails are not being received by the two G Suite mail accounts that need them – whereas they are being successfully received by other mail providers.

The G Suite users can receive other notification emails, i.e. auto-generated by WooCommerce etc. hence I was wondering if the problem was related to the way Forminator has been configured on my sites.

Is this Email Tracker plugin capable of providing info to diagnose unsuccessful attempts?

I have concerns about installing the Email Tracker plugin at the moment. Currently it’s only used by 600 users:

hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

    Hello @mwcs,

    I hope you’re doing well!

I apologize for the delayed reply. An email tracker plugin will help to identify if an email, triggered by the Forminator, is sent from the WordPress site.

If emails, sent from Forminator are received to other email addresses, then the issue is with the GSuite not accepting an email from your site. The domain authority may not be high enough and the Gsuite is blocking an email. It can be treated as a spam, so please check the Spam folders.

If the emails are not is Spam folder, please have a look at the Gsuite documentation:

Setting up an SMTP plugin should help to fix this issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

Thank you. I resolved it with a SMTP plugin as recommended.
