You can do it, but it’s a headache.

You have to escape each shortcode with a \, i.e.

    \[some_visual_composer_shortcode]{your content[1]}\[/some_visual_composer_shortcode]

^^ Notice the \ before each beginning and ending shortcode

maybe an alternative is for me to import it all into custom fields, and make visual composer user those custom fields to populate the content. Is that possible? The reason is I need to design to look differnt rather than use the regular post layout.

I’m not familiar with Visual Composer, so I don’t know if it’s possible to make Visual Composer use those Custom Fields to populate the content.

But WP All Import can definitely import the data there.

What’s wrong with just escaping each shortcode with a \ though? Isn’t that a lot easier?

Hi thanks I have tried with escaping shortcode with \ it works! thanks

But I I can’t preview it at the import stage with shortcodes, its not a big issue I just have to test it by importing once first.
