Does not work with NextGen 2.2 & WP 3.8

NextGEN Gallery 2.0.xx has been rewritten from scratch with an entirely different architecture, and is for the most part a completely different plugin from the original 1.9.xx codebase that ColorBoxer was written for.

I’m currently hard at work rewriting my plugins for NextGEN 2.0 (with backwards compatibility for the original codebase), but in the meantime I would recommend rolling back to v1.9.13 (which is also currently faster and more stable).

Mark, the guide you recommended just mix the old and new NextGen files in the same folder. I think thi is quite a dirty and risky method from programming perspective. Since legacy code exists in version 2.0, is there any flag to use the legacy code in \nextgen-gallery\products\photocrati_nextgen\modules\ngglegacy instead? It would be a cleaner approach.

PS I do not understand something.. how many NextGen authors are there?

Personally, I would delete the current “nextgen-gallery” folder in your plugins directory first, then just drop v1.9.13 in its place. This will ensure no extra files are left behind.

In regards to authors, the original version of NextGEN Gallery was developed by Alex Rabe, and was taken over by the Photocrati team in June 2012.

Additionally, there are other developers (including myself) who have written add-on plugins to extend the functionality of the free version of NextGEN. This includes the Photocrati team who went on to develop NextGEN Pro.
