• I purchased the Pro version of the Gridsby theme for a client’s web site, hoping to display my client’s photographs in a gallery on the front page of her web site.

However, I am not able to get Gridsby to actually display a Pinterest-style gallery of photos on the front page of my client’s web site. I have been perusing the documentation, but I do not find any instruction to set up a photo gallery.

I have carefully followed the Gridsby Pro video tutorial — but I notice, in this video tutorial, that the front page photo gallery is already magically in place.

I also notice that there is a link at the bottom of the Gridsby Support pages —

“Get your theme installed & looking like the demo for $15! Buy Now”

The message this sends me: pay an additional $15.00 to get a Modern Themes theme looking as advertised. The result is, it seems to me like the gallery function is purposely hidden, and I need to pay an additional $15 to learn the secret to get it to work.

At this time I am looking for other themes to display photos, in Pinterest style, on my client’s web site. After research and consideration, I cannot recommend this theme.

    Sincerely,

    Eric

  • Not sure about the Pro version, but in the free Gridsby theme available here you 1) upload images to your Media directory, 2) set the Gallery as the home page in Settings, and then 3) in the Customiser >> Gallery Page Pagination set to display All Photos or set Pagination with X images per page.

Looks good once it’s set up. Maybe give it another try?

Dear Barnez, thank you for this very thoughtful reply. I have moved on to another solution, but I am very grateful for your time. All best, Eric
