Does anybody know if not displaying “TAGS” below the posts will limit my blog’s ability to be found?

I am still adding tags when I write the post but my theme (Atahualpa) has the option of not displaying the tags.

And on a side note, does adding a lot of tags increase the chances of being found from say a google search?

    thx

  • If the tags aren’t displayed on the page, the search engines won’t index. them.

No. A few well-chosen tags that relate closely to your post’s topic will probably be more effective.

    Just curious……

I’m using my categories sort of as “tags”. My different categories are displayed below my posts as links as well as in the permalink. Will this act the same way as “tags” for the search engines?

    Thank you.

As far as Search engines and blog indexes are concerned, WordPress categories and tags are the same thing. WordPress offers them separately in case you’d like to treat them as such for organizational purposes, but they’re exactly the same to everything else.

    Roger that!
