Does not open in new tab

Please direct me to a page with a link that you expect to be opening a new tab. I have to see the issue in action.

Frequently the issue is caused because the link is loaded dynamically, so PLT doesn’t “see” it when it’s looking for links that should be made to open in a new tab.

If you click on “Enroll Now” in the menu bar OR “Find Help” under “Resources” in the menu bar, it doesn’t open to a new page even though I have ticked the box.

I am experiencing the same issue. I just discovered and installed this plugin today. Very easy to install and implement however the “Open tab in a new window” button is not functioning.

I’ve decided to look at a different approach to how “open in new tab” is implemented. Lots of sites have issues with it, usually because they’re loading content in dynamically and the plugin “misses” the links. The new approach will be a lot more foolproof, and will work even if the links appear on the page after the page loads initially.

But that won’t help you, themandinator. Your issue is that your theme (or maybe a plugin?) is forcibly removing jQuery from WordPress and using a Google CDN version that is like 4 years old. I’m going to try to put in some code that will “defend” against that situation — it’s not the first time I’ve encountered it.

Would you be able to take a look at my site under development and advise why I am experiencing the same functionality issues? I believe it is due to dynamically loaded content per your comments above but I am not sure how to know for sure. If this is the issue, is there a workaround?

The 2 images on the bottom left of the home page are assigned using the “Page Links To” plugin and have been checked with the “Open In New Tab” button.

I am having the same issue that I was having before with a new website using the same theme and martini of plugins. The issue is that the “Open in New Tab” does not work. On my last website (as you will see above) the problem resolved itself mysteriously….this time I have not had the same luck. The plugin is working in general….just not opening in a new tab. Mark, It appears that I only experience the tab failing to open in a new window when I have a hover state option selected within the theme. I have the excerpt from the post loading onto the featured image; when this option is NOT selected, the entry will open in a new tab. Do you have any suggestions for me to make your plugin override whatever setting is causing this conflict?

“Would you play a Nevada Lottery?” at top is selected to open in a new tab. It worked fine on the site before, not sure what would have changed?

I’ve got the same issue. I want to use the posts in our ‘news’ section with external links, but it doesn’t seem to work. The link opens but never in a new window/tab.
