I love this plugin, and I know it does restrict content produced via shortcodes, so this is really annoying. I can’t get it to restrict a the root page of a bbPress forum.

A root bbPress forum page involves a shortcode, and optionally any other random content you would like to place before or after the shortcode. In my case, I have a brief text notice with a few HTML tags, and just below it I’ve placed the bbPress shortcode ([bbp-forum-index]).

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

@somniumlucidus – I’m not quite sure I understand. Are you trying to restrict with the shortcode or with the restriction editor?

I’m giving the restriction editor the name of the page I want to restrict (i.e., the forum page). The forum page contains some text with HTML tags and the forum shortcode.

Ok in this case I believe you also go into the forum settings and assign that page as the home page of the forums? If so that means they are using their own internal page loading functions. IE is_page( ‘forum’ ) will not return true on the /forum/ page as expected. This is the same for WooCommerce & BuddyPress so I assume that is likely the issue here. We will need to add custom conditions to compensate for that. I will have to test and find out what needs to be done if you confirm the above.

You’re right, the bbPress plugin demands that you also assign that page as the home page of the forums on the bbPress settings page.
