Does not show up in admin after activation

Not sure what is going on, would love to be using this plugin from you guys, but when I activate the plugin it never shows up under settings or anywhere else for that matter, and I have no errors. I am running on a multisite (but did not network activate, only activated for the site I want it on). Running PHP 7.1.10 and nothing in error logs, thanks.

Update: version 3.8.8 of the plugin installed and activated just fine, however, I get this now:

This version of the plugin is not compatible with WordPress Multisite Edition. Please contact your Network Admin for the upgrade.

What upgrade? I am the Admin. Do I have to pay to use it for one site on my multisite?
