    Hi!

I installed this plugin to my local test installation. I activated and configured it to show up on both, dashboard submenu and dashboard itself. This configuration was confirmed.

But there is no dashboard widget or submenu (logged in as admin). The plugin itself seems to work (I see logs in that table), but simply does not create the menu entry.

I have no clue why this is the case (as I don’t see any error popping up). Anybody has an idea?

Additional info: The configuration menu of this plugin is found unter Settings and other plugins are able to add new admin menues of course.

    Okay. I found the problem.

Simple “Simple History” for some reason only shows up for users having the “edit_pages” right.

As my WP has pages disabled, it does not show the “Simple History”.
That is unexpected (and only visible by analysing the code..)

Thanks for the updates regarding this. May I ask how you hide the pages? Are you using some custom code in your functions.php or are you using a plugin? I would like to see and test this beahavior myself.

I am using the plugin “WPFront User Role Editor” to edit my role settings. I disabled “edit_pages” capability for all of my roles (using “Add/Remove cap”).
My WP installation should not have pages and I don’t want to disturb my users with menu references to it. Disabling this cap for all does that for me.

But I already changed your plugin, so it matches better my needs. In special I changed the capas needed for features, so they match better the feature to display (post log should not depend on “edit_pages” but “edit_posts” i.e.).

I liked your feature giving hooks where other plugins may add content to the log. This was unique and very important to me, so I wanted your plugin to work for me, too. ??
