Does not upload from the front-end

For a file type field to upload via a form in this way you need to adjust the form tag adding the following to the form HTML tag:

enctype="multipart/form-data"

So Kim, I am not sure what you are wanting us to do to get this to work?

If we modify the bbPress or Core code, that mod will be wiped out on the next update or we have to create a separate template for those pages and then they would never get updated?

Or am I missing something?

With that said, I did look at the User Profile Edit page for bbPress and the encrypt type is correct per your response above.
