    Dear Community,

I’ve created a very simple website for an independent artist with the use of the “Block Visibility” Plugin – unfortunately, I’m now facing [EDIT] several a problems [/EDIT] after the recent updates of both WordPress and the Plugin. All blocks are visible even though there are specific screen size-based settings to disallow this. I’m not an expert and have a hard time figuring out where the issue is located – it has been working for more than a year.

[Edit ] This issue solved itself: I don’t know why or how. For the site’s navigation, I’ve created a desktop header with nav elements and a mobile header with mobile nav elements. Both are visible now, which isn’t intended to be working like this. [/EDIT]

On gallery subpages, I have a slider for the desktop variant of the site, as well as a straightforward gallery to scroll through. I am facing the same here, both elements are visible.

I’d be more than happy if somebody could advise me on this issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @mediengestalt,

Thanks for reaching out. It looks as though you are using the advanced screensize options, which gives you all five options:

    • Hide on large desktop
    • Hide on desktop
    • Hide on tablet
    • Hide on mobile (landscape)
    • Hide on mobile (portrait)

In looking at the slider, it only seems to be hidden on “desktop”, not “large desktop” as well. If you slowly adjust the size of your browser, you will see the gallery disappear below 1200px and then reappear at 992px.

Enabling “Hide on large desktop” will ensure the gallery is hidden above 1200px as well.

Let me know if you run into any issues, or if I can help further.

    Best,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

    thanks for the quick reply.

Maybe I didn’t clarify properly. The issue is the display of the slider plus the gallery on responsive mobile. The desktop version looks fine (due to only the slider being displayed).

If you want to hide content on mobile when you have the ?advanced screensize options enabled, you will need to select both:

    • Hide on mobile (landscape)
    • Hide on mobile (portrait)

Give that a try and let me know if it fixes the issue for you. It looks like only “Hide on mobile (landscape)” is selected right now.

    Nick

I am going to close this out because this recommendation will fix the issue. But please let me know if I can answer any further questions.

Thanks for the answer and your patience. Both aforementioned options are selected for mobile, and on the desktop, the other options are selected vice versa, however, that does not change the issue.

    Hi there,

Can you confirm that the?advanced screensize options are enabled? You can access these settings from the WordPress admin by navigating to Settings → Block Visibility. Then click on the Visibility Controls tab and scroll down to the Screen Size section.

Based on what I can see from the front end of your site, the advanced options appear to be enabled, but I just want to confirm.

Once you have confirmed they are enabled, for blocks you want to hide on mobile, the following two settings need to be enabled.

Let me know if you continue to experience issues. For what it’s worth, the headers appear to be setup correctly using with these settings.

    Best,
    Nick
