• Works OK for making a copy of a production sight onto localhost like the demo shows.

But who needs that? I don’t. The need is really to move local hosted sites to production server, and Duplicator does not allow you to do that.

Needs a lot of work. Add the functionality to move local site to production server and this will be a useful tool.

  • Hello most users here have had no problems creating a backup on a local server and upload it to a live server. See this review post.

If you submit a Support Ticket here, I am sure the developer and others will be able to help you.

    Kind regards

I use the plugin to move sites from development to production all the time so do thousands of other people. Seems like your a bit quick to give a one star! Even if that was the case, a one star for reals? Seems like a pretty critical rating.

There are many plugins that I use that don’t do exactly what I want, but I never give a one star… I wish you would reconsider your vote as the statement is not true and the rating is very critical, especially with the thousands of hours we have put into the development of the software.

Its so funny to read your review.. This is one of the best wordpress plugin in the market.

I have created another tutorial. Check out both here:
    https://easywebdesigntutorials.com/wordpress/duplicator-tutorial-videos/

First is on creating a duplicator package and installer file and uploading it to create a new site.

Second video is on downloading a package and installer file from an existing live web site and creating a new offline site.

This should be packaged with WordPress installation. That’s how good it is!

    I agree gediweb…:)

I dont know what this guys problem is, works fine for migrating a wordpress site to anywhere. Local or live.

I do use it to move from localhost to production and visceversa, I think you dont know how to get it working, I suggest you watch the above tutorial bro.

    Cheers!

This vote is a bit odd… The only activity this user has ever had on the wordpress forums is to give this plugin a one-star. Seems very suspicious to me. Could be from a competing plugin author, or just someone who is bitter… Either way its really an illegitimate vote and should probably be removed…

I’m a little baffled by this. I’ve used Duplicator to move three different locally built sites to production. It works just as expected. Perhaps your production server’s settings need to be reviewed?

This is a rock solid plugin that does what it says.

This is by far one of the most useful plugins for WP. I host at GoDaddy who I think do a great job especially for multiple WP installations. They do daily backups of website but not the dbase which must be done manually.

This is a very convenient tool especially snce we are already in the admins on a weekly bassis doing plugin updates already.

How do you get a ridiculous review removed?

The developer replied well and anyone reading this thread will make up their own mind. There’s no need to delete this review.

Hello, Jan ~ In rethinking this, I totally agree. Thanks for your response. It would be a loss if this thread were removed and wouldn’t make much sense without the original comment.

I just used Duplicator to move two complete sites from my local environment to my production server in a matter of 2 minutes flat. That’s right, one minute a piece. I have been using this plugin since it first came out, and have used it for dozens of WordPress sites. Terrible review above.
