I’m having the same issue. Works on desktop testing but not on iPhone tests. Can the author offer any advice on this issue?

Thanks neilgee. I tried that as well shortly after adding this post and it seemed to resolve the issue.

    Sorry! Not resolved yet.

    The menu sort of works.

I re-saved per the instructions above.

The menu appears properly. You touch it and the iOS menu appears at the bottom of the screen.

1 – You can scroll fine through the menu that appears at the screens bottom.

2 – But you can’t touch a selected menu link and have it automatically GO to that page.

3 – You have to touch the menu link then touch “Done”

4 – The menu then switches.

Is this the natural way the plugin is supposed to function? Or is it supposed to jump to the chosen page when you click it?

    Hi tg1,

Yes, that is the expected functionality. This is an iOS-specific UX issue, it’s not something that can be controlled by the plugin. The “menu” that shows up is iOS’s select box interface – once you select your link, you have to touch “done” for iOS to register that you have made your choice. Then your page will redirect. If you were to make an analogy to the same functionality on the desktop, hovering over the selectbox option is the same as tapping it on iOS, and clicking the selectobox option on your desktop to make your selection is equivalent to clicking ‘Done’ on iOS.

I believe iOS implements the selectbox UI this way to prevent users from inadvertently clicking an option they didn’t mean to as they scroll through the selectbox options. This is one of the drawbacks to touch interfaces.

    Hope that helps,

    Chris

Funny thing happened about an hour ago.

I was at Best Buy to buy a microwave. While there – I always scroll and read reviews on their website as I compare products.

I laughed – Bestbuy.com’s mobile menu makes you do the same exact thing – hit “done” to proceed.

I guess I never really thought it through.

    Kudos!

Haha yup, that’s standard for the selectbox responsive menu paradigm, it’s just how iOS works ??

    Have a good one!
