Does Reinstalling WordPress via Updates erase anything?

  • Hey, if you click ‘Reinstall WordPress version…’ are any of the wordpress settings reset, or any of my content erased? After the 6.2.2 update came out I logged into my site to click update. But the site had already updated but my hand was faster than my brain and I clicked ‘Reinstall version 6.2.2’ would any database changes have been made given I already had 6.2.2, or reset any details in the php files? The site is working but I want to know if anything is reset that I should look into?

    Hiya,

    I can ease your mind here, as reinstalling will only replace WordPress’ core files, and will never touch your content or uploaded media.

    Like Marius said, that only replaces the core files. If you want more, plugins like WP Reset are a great start. There are also other similar plugins if you want/need.

    does it change wp-config file ??????
