Hello, please can you clarify a few points for me:

    1. Does Smush super version change non webp into webp images? If yes, does that mean it’s fine for me to upload PNG files from canva without first changing to webp?
    2. My webp format images are not able to be smushed, is it because they are already in webp format?
    3. It says i have 27 images that failed to smush. When i click into the library, it shows only 17. Also, in the list of 27, I see many files that are not an image (The only file I have that is not an image is an uploaded plugin) and when I click to see what it is, it says it has been removed and cannot be edited. How do I fix this?

    Hi @nerdymamas

I hope you are doing well.

This is done when Smush > Webp is enabled, however, this is a premium feature: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/smush/#local-webp

“My webp format images are not able to be smushed, is it because they are already in webp format?”

Plugins will skip as they were supposed to be optimized already as WebP is an optimized version.

Could you share a screenshot of this list? We look for image files only and any non-related image should be skipped.

Most of the time you will fix the failed to optimize by regenerating the thumbnails https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and then run the Bulk Smush again, but if this gets non-image files we should investigate.
