    Hey guys,

    I have Cleantalk Spamfirewall installed and sometimes prior to accessing the site, it randomly pops up a page that asks me to wait a few seconds prior to passing me over to the homepage. I think it says that it’s testing to see if I’m a spam bot or something. I can’t figure out what triggers this event. The page seems to come up intermittently. If anyone can tell me how to trigger this consisitently I’d like to know.

    What I’m really wanting confirmation on is if this page, when it does come up, passes over all the query string values to the home page correctly? I’ve been testing an affiliate plugin and when that page comes up the affiliate’s referred sale doesn’t result in a commission. Anyone got any insights on that?

    OK, it seems that there is definitely some kind of issue here.

    Looks like CleanTalk Anti-Crawler Protection intercepts the URL and redirects the request to a page that checks the user’s browser and IP address, prior to redirecting the user to the URL that was originally requested, but without the query string ‘aff’ attached.

    It’s happened to me now a couple of times and I’ve picked up on the fact that when it redirects it to the site, the ‘aff’ query string is no longer there, and instead there is its own SPF string that it’s appended to the URL. I’ve attached two screengrabs, one of the page that is displayed when it intercepts the request and checks my browser and IP address etc, and then another screenshot after it’s gone through the check and redirected me back to the site. You’ll notice that the URL is different and that the ‘aff’ string is not being passed over. I imagine that the aff query string never got registered in the cookies prior to cleantalk intercepting..

    Any insights on how to fix kindly appreciated.

    As a general rule, SpamFireWall should not trigger for real users. It only appears for bots that don’t pass the checks, or for users with spam-active IP addresses. After passing the SpamFireWall screen, the real user should be redirected to the requested page. But spambot will not be able to pass the blocking screen.
