Does the amount of pages affect WP performance?

  • Hi, I have created my own theme and i am wondering if the amount of pages determine the speed of a given WP site. So can a web page load slower if there are 25 other pages versus loading that same webpage in a site with only 5 pages or so.

    Curious to know!

    The speed of a website depends on several factors. As more pages are added ,more slowly gonna run, but if you have a good host, thats not be a big problem.

    No pages do not affect the speed of your WordPress, neither posts.

    But it may affect via the Dashboard when MySQL needs to query the posts and the pages to display via the panel.

    But even so, the Dashboard as default is limited to show an “X” amount of pages and posts per page.

    There’re are some cases when the wp-post, for example, has too many tables it may timeout “504 error” in this case this is due to the fact the MySQL should be fine tunned.
