Does the Brute Force Network slow down a site?

  • My site load seems to have taken a hit since I enabled iThemes Security.
    fyi I DONT use the file scanning feature.

    I’m wondering if signing up for the Brute Force Network protection feature drains performance.

    Thinking about it logically, if the plugin needs to “call home” to compare an IP address with the list of banned IP’s it should impact to at least some degree.

    Hi @twd,

    A slight slowdown can happen because the plugin does need to do work, but it shouldn’t be noticeable. Are there certain pages or operations you are noticing a slowdown on?

    The Brute Force Network protection only contacts the network when a user is attempting to login. So it shouldn’t slow down your typical website usage.
