Does the search form belong to WordPress or my theme?
-
I would have thought it belonged to WordPress if I was able to remove it using the Disable Search plugin or the code at https://www.wpbeginner.com/awp-tutorials/how-to-disable-the-search-feature-in-wordpress/ (with Code Snippets). At https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/disable-search/ it says that it might belong to the theme, because (I think) searchform.php wasn’t used. Is it inappropriate to post the following question at the support pages of many themes, until I get a solution that allows me to remove the search form from my site? (If you can help me, at my site, I’d like to remove the search form to the left of the login form, not the one below it.)
Here is part of the question: Can I remove the search form with this theme? At https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/remove-search-13/ it says to remove it using CSS, and I’d appreciate it if you’d tell me what I should paste into “Additional CSS” at the customizing page, if that is where I’m supposed to put it. If there is an easier way, please let me know.
Thank you.
