Does this plugin convert PNG image to EPL or..
-
..to a viable, printable format for a thermal printer? The printer my client uses (LP 2844) is printing the shipping label upside down. It’s legible, but the UPS disclaimer that gets printed on the bottom of the label appears on top based on the printed shipping information’s appearance on the label.

What I found out from UPS is that thermal printers do not print in PNG format – they must be converted in some way to a common thermal file types, (EPL/ZPL, etc).
Hi Keith,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
Currently, our UPS plugin does not provide support for EPL or ZPL format.?
However, we have decided to develop this functionality in our future release.
We would require 3 weeks time to implement this.
Till now, we had not implemented this because, there are customers who are able to print labels via thermal printer using our PNG format (4×6).
Let us know if you have any queries.
Well, what do you do when the image constantly prints upside down on the label? The printer itself prints disclaimer information on the label, so the plugin has to send the data ‘right side up’. I’ve been trying to get this answer from you for several days via your help system. I get a response once a day that dances around this topic.
Hi Keith,
We completely understand your concern. However, EPL and ZPL formats support were not a part of our plugin feature. In the interest of our existing customers we are requesting 3 weeks time to develop this functionality so that the plugin prints labels with these two formats. Once the feature is available, your issue will be resolved.
We request patience and cooperation from your side.
Hi guys,
I’m looking for this too in the ZPL format……are we still looking at another 2 weeks?
Thanks,
Pat.
I got excited for a second hoping it was them letting me know the plugin’s update was ready. I’m waiting, too!
Hi,
We are working on the EPL and ZPL support feature.
We will update the plugin with EPL and ZPL feature by 9th May 2016.
However, kindly note that it will be available with our premium version.
Hi Keith/Pat,
We have released a new version of the plugin (2.6.8) with EPL and ZPL support.
You can download the latest version of our premium plugin by going to Wooforce.com –> My Accounts.
Let us know if you have any issue with printing labels.
Thank you!
Do you have any associated documentation with it addressing the added features?
Example: my client’s printer uses EPL format. Is the EPL format compatible with using the ‘Display Label in Browser’ option?
Keith

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.
If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.
Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.
I simultaneously had a request in with WooForce when I put that error message up. I had let them know their user acct info was still active, but they were using a different set of credentials that were associated with my client’s UPS logon.
I updated the ticket, spelling out their U/N & P/W..
Frankly, I posted the message here to ‘make sure this mic was on’.
Hi Jan,
We appreciate your concern.
However, we would like to clarify few things.
Sometimes we may have to login and check issues at our customer’s website as we are not able to replicate it from our end.
We understand the criticality of the case and we will keep that in mind and redirect them to our support page henceforth.
Regards,
Team WooForceTotally off topic but here goes. Please excuse me @cantonjester while I attempt an explanation. I’ll try to be brief.

Thanks. I’m glad we appreciate each other. Now that that’s out of the way:
Sometimes we may have to login and check issues at our customer’s website as we are not able to replicate it from our end.
Don’t. Really, do not for the reasons I mentioned above. These are not your customers*, these are users of your free plugin. As I’d written if you are going to go that way then this will be escalated to the plugins team.
If you feel that that step is necessary then please consider removing your plugin from the repo. There are so many things that you can do such as gather requirements, obtain settings, process logs and many other troubleshooting steps that do not ever require you to log into the user’s site.
As you know, the Woocommerce plugin already has an excellent built in way to get the theme, plugin, settings, PHP version etc. Use that, replicate the issue. But don’t log into user’s sites. That is going too far.
*If these are your customers then let me know here and I’ll close this topic. Plugin authors are not permitted to support their customers in these volunteer forums.
I now return this topic back to it’s regularly scheduled program.
Hi Jan,
Thank you the information. We apologize, if by any chance, we violated wordpress forum rules.
Henceforth, we will not ask for credentials.
