• I would like to create/edit a post, without the post being added to the blog as a blog post…What I get: To create a post/page, to edit the post or page, access the url to the post/page. What I do not need: Is for the post that I create to show up along with my other published posts. Is there some type of external plugin that will let you create posts/pages, but not add them to the blog as a normal published post?
    Thanks

I’m not sure you would need a plugin for that. I think all you might need to do is put those posts and pages in draft or private status, instead of published status.

[edit] Some reference material: Writing Posts and Descriptions of Post Fields“Private posts are visible only to you (and to other editors or admins within your site)”

I did not think about that.

I will give that a try.

Sorry to say that did not work; You actually provided the answer that it was not going to work in your second statement.

Draft shows 404 page not found.
Private only shows to admin, and once logged
out, then shows 404 page not found.

I need the public to be able to see the URL/page, but
only where I decide to place the link to the page…

See if this is closer to what you have in mind. https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-hide-post/

I will try it out to make sure.
