Does this plugin help with new topic notifications?

This isn’t so much a support question as a question about whether this plugin will help forum users to be consistently notified of new topics posted in forums they are subscribed to. Currently after updated bbPress, new topic notifications are only delivered intermittently (before the update they were working fine). I haven’t been able to troubleshoot this issue so I’m looking for a plugin that will help. The forum in question is behind a membership wall. Thanks!
