    Hi there,

Does this plugin work with real (system) cron as well or just WP cron?

I have real cron running and installed this plugin.

What do those red exclamation marks and yellow lines on the left side mean? Is it not supposed to work with real cron?

    Thank you.

This plugin is for managing WordPress cron events. It’s unrelated to real system cron events.

The red exclamation marks indicate a problem. What does the text next right to the exclamation mark say? Can you provide a screenshot?

    Hi John,

    Thank you for your reply.

So, is if the plugin is for WP Cron (and I’m only running real cron), does it mean that those warnings in the plugin could be ignored in my case or do they still indicate there are issues?

My host doesn’t see issues on their end related to this real cron but I can see that Updraftplus for example is not doing its scheduled job.

P.S. Is there a way to delete the post with a screenshot for security reasons?

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Max

Okay so those errors are telling you that the events have missed their schedule (eg 5 hours 9 minutes ago). This means that your cron spawner isn’t running. You need to speak to your host about this and ask them to advise.

The events without an action can usually be deleted. They’re usually left over from old plugins that you’re no longer using. You can usually confirm this by Googling the name of the event and see what plugin comes in in the results.

I don’t think there’s anything sensitive in your screenshot but you can delete the image from Imgur if you still have the original link. There’s a delete button in the sidebar. Otherwise you can edit the post in this forum and remove the link.

But aren’t they showing as not running because I’m on real cron and WP Crontrol is just not detecting those because it’s made for wp cron, not for real system cron?

About deleting the events. Those plugins appearing in event names are actually being used by me. So I’m wondering can those events be still deleted as the events themselves might already be not relevant?

    Thank you.

If the events are missing their schedules then they aren’t running, regardless of how they’re spawned. If your real cron event is spawning WP-Cron then it sounds like it’s not firing often enough.

Ah good then I can still use your plugin as an indication for issues even if I’m on real system cron?

    hey @maxgorky
experiencing the same issue with real cron and updraftplus. did you find a solution for that?

@johnbillion no mate. There’s too many issues with switching to real cron as I’ve discovered, after I switched. Someone still recommended to stay with Wp cron and gave some valid reasons which counter this popular option of having a real cron. Back to wp cron now and no more issues with Updraftplus.

@maxgorky thanks a lot for your reply.
