No, only wordpress urls will be blocked. Not individual files outside of wordpress.

Ok, clear. This is an important distinction. Thanks, MTN

I’m not clear on this. Log shows when blocking on front end, various URLs are blocked, not just specific ones to WordPress.

For example, the LOG shows that this got blocked:

    /images/layout/image.gif

That’s not specific to WordPress, just a folder on my server where I store misc. images.

Please clear up the confusion. iQ Block Country doesn’t totally block on the frontend, then it’s useless against all the attacks that try to hit various files on the serve. In that case, I might as well go back to .htaccess country blocking so I know everything is covered? Thanks for any info, MTN

It only works on files that are parsed by wordpress.

If you want to block all files using a .htaccess file is better indeed. Unless you want to block a whole lot of countries in that case your site may get slow due to the size of the .htaccess file.

This plugin is only intended as a way to block countries from your content on the frontend or the backend. So no images or whatsoever.

Thanks Pascal, do you or anyone know of something that’ll block countries from _all files_ but is better than adding thousands of lines to the .htaccess IP deny? Thanks for any suggestions. MTN
