If I am setting custom sizes in my WordPress Function file, will this plug-in also optimize those files that are generated automatically or just the original image being uploaded?

    Or…

When uploading, is the original image optimized first? Then then the new image sizes defined with add_image_size() are created based off of the newly optimized image?

    Also…

Regarding images that are already uploaded. If I choose “smushit” from the media library table. Will it optimize those images (ex. thumb, featured image, custom sizes) that were automatically generated?

  • Hi there @designerken,

Greetings and thanks for your questions! The plugin does work with media library images, including thumbnails. Though you’d need to run the smuch process after adding images.

    Would that work for you?

Also, have you had any trouble with the optimization of thumbnails with this yet?

It should just work, though I don’t think it actually reports thumbnail changes as yet. If you have any trouble with it though, we’ll gladly have a look.

Looking forward to your reply! ??

    Cheers,
    David
