Does what it says and authors are helpful

  • After trying every lightbox and finding something wrong with each, we came across ARI Fancy Lightbox. It does what it says which is more unusual than it sounds. Social sharing was very important to my client as was deep linking. Many other lightboxes either don’t have these features or they don’t work very well. ARI Fancy Lightbox works correctly and as advertised.

    We had some technical questions about altering the behavior of one function in the lightbox. We received a reply in less than 24 hours and the information was quite helpful. Again, more unusual than it sounds. We’re still waiting for answers to questions on some other lightboxes several weeks after asking.

    Installation was easy. Configuration was mostly easy but could benefit from tooltips on some settings to avoid needing to search the documentation.

    One client is using this with FooGallery. When ARI Fancy Lightbox is installed, FooGallery recognizes it and offers it as a choice in their lightbox setting. FooGallery doesn’t provide a one-step way to change all existing galleries to use a different lightbox so that step was a little time consuming.

    Overall we’re very happy with this plugin. We did buy the pro version to gets some extra features and this review is based on the features in the pro version as a result.
