First of all “they” is incorrect as this is a one man show run by me. I am the developer, server admin, support person … and I can tell you its a lot of work. Charging 20€ a year for that is not a “ripoff”.
Could you point me to those “way better options” please?
You claimed that I ignored your support question but even after 2 attempts to point me to that question I supposedly ignored I got nothing from you. I am more and more beginning to believe you actually never opened one or not replied when I asked you something. I tried to find it but could not find it.
Fact: Support questions get pushed to the top on my site if you comment on one. You however claimed that you are trying to update the plugin “for months” yet you made no attempt to get my attention during this period of time. And then after months you write me a email claiming I ignored you. Maybe I missed a question. All you should have done is is make a comment in your supposed support question (that may not even exist). And we could figure that out. Or even write me about that earlier via email.
And btw I have this support site with pretty quick response times that also sends out emails for every activity and I never officially did any email support, people still figure out my email though Paypal receipts or something and just email me. It really gets annoying.
I did apologize twice to you in my response email and informed you that the reason you can not find the zip download on your account is that your license has expired. And that there was also a bug in the auto updating process a few month back, but you could fix that with a manual update. Acting all surprised about the fact that you have to renew your license every year and claiming its a “ripoff” is pretty arrogant I may add. You signed up for a yearly license. If you did not agree to be charged yearly you should not sign up in the first place.
Also the claim that you need to get it renewed to keep it working is not entirely correct. The pro addon will continue to work even if a license is expired. However, you will lose the auto update functionality and there may be updates to the main plugin that require newer versions of the Pro Addon because of code changes. So after some time people will need a newer version if they want to keep the main plugin up to date. Obviously they wan’t to get the newest improvements and fixes anyway and most seem to be fine with paying for my work on this plugin.
Again to make that more clear: There is no code in the plugin that will check for a valid license every day and disables the plugin or its functionality if not found. I could do that, and I think it’s nice of me not to do that.
I wish I would get a valid constructive feedback as a 1 star review. So far all the 1 star reviews I got were false claims from haters and things like this. People later complain about things that are transparent in the open but they were just not reading.
There is this one guy who claimed “Autoplay did not work” who did not even read the feature list where it says “(For providers that support it)”. This seems to be the same thing. You payed for “1 year updates, 1 year support” and then you complain about “ripoff” 1 year later. I would actually like to laugh about this if this bs reviews would not damage my plugins reputation because some people just read the headlines with those lies and think they are true.
